Polly Graham

Polly is an opera and theatre director who has worked at some of the biggest theatres in Europe including Teatro San Carlo, La Scala and the Wiener Staatsoper.

Polly is also Artistic Director of Longborough Festival Opera, and has developed Loud Crowd, an ongoing project which explores operatic performance in site-specific locations, notably at Bold Tendencies. She speaks fluent French and is a student of Italian, Welsh and Hindi.

About Polly

British/Irish director Polly Graham read English at Trinity College, Dublin, before completing a MA in Text and Performance at RADA. She was supported by the Genesis Foundation to work at Welsh National Opera from 2013-2015, mentored by Sir David Pountney.

She was awarded the 2016 Independent Opera Director Fellowship and nominated as Best Newcomer at the International Opera Awards in 2017.

Directing work includes The Rake’s Progress (English Touring Opera), Bon Appétit (Hijinx & L’Oiseau Mouche - Associate Director), The Fairy Queen (Longborough Festival Opera), Così fan Tutte (Irish National Opera).
